OUR STORY

Spriggs Excavation, Inc. was founded by Steve Spriggs in 2005 as a small residential excavation firm in Durango, Colorado.

Since then, we’ve grown into a leading multi-state heavy civil contractor, employing over 100 full-time professionals and operating a diverse fleet of more than 100 units, including scrapers, dozers and motor graders.

Our expertise covers a wide range of excavation services, with a focus on mass excavations, electrical substations, right-of-way clearing and renewable energy projects. Whether we’re working on a single-family home or a 3,000-acre solar array, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional customer service. Even with our growth, we remain committed to preserving the personalized approach and attention to detail that defined our early days.

Founder and Owner
Steve Spriggs founded Spriggs Excavation, Inc. in 2005 with a vision to deliver high-quality excavation services with a personal touch. What began as a small residential excavation firm in Durango, Colorado, grew into a respected heavy civil contractor, operating across multiple states. Steve was deeply hands-on, building the company from the ground up with hard work and commitment to his employees. His focus on cultivating strong relationships and doing the right thing laid the foundation for Spriggs’ long-term success.

Sam Loughman

President
